How We Review Platforms

Every platform on this site is reviewed using the same four-dimension framework. Here is exactly how it works.

Rating system

Each platform receives a score from 0 to 5 on four dimensions. The overall rating is the straight average of all four.

• Pay Rate — How much you realistically earn per hour or per task in South African rand. We use local tester data, not global averages.
• Reliability — Does the platform pay consistently and on time? Have we seen payment disputes or account bans without cause?
• Ease of Use — How long does it take to get started, navigate the interface, and complete your first earning activity?
• Payout Speed — How quickly does money move from your platform balance to your bank account or mobile wallet?

Scores are assigned in half-point increments (e.g. 3.5, 4.0). A platform needs at least one verified payout before it can receive a score above 2.0 on Reliability.

Verified badge

A platform earns the Verified badge when we have collected three or more independent payout proofs from South African users. Proof means a screenshot of a bank deposit, PayPal transfer, or mobile money receipt with the platform name and date visible. We redact personal information before storing proofs.

Platforms without the Verified badge are listed as Unverified — they may be legitimate but we have not yet confirmed a South African payout chain.

Earning ranges

All earning estimates are quoted in South African rand (ZAR) and represent realistic monthly figures for someone spending 5–10 hours per week on the platform. We do not use best-case figures or international earnings converted at face value. If a platform pays in USD, we apply the current exchange rate and adjust for SA-specific task availability, which is typically lower than global averages.

Independence

Affiliate relationships do not influence scores. We maintain separate spreadsheets for review data and commercial relationships, and scores are locked before any affiliate link is added to a page. If a platform offers a higher commission in exchange for a better rating, we decline and note the approach in our internal log.

Update policy

Every verified review is re-checked at least once per quarter. "Last verified" dates on review pages reflect the most recent time we confirmed payouts and re-scored the platform. If a platform closes, pauses SA signups, or materially changes its earning structure between scheduled reviews, we update within 48 hours of becoming aware.
